UTV bags 42 nominations at Screen Awards 2013

In what can be considered as a record for any studio, UTV has received a whopping 42 nominations at the prestigious 19th Annual Colors Screen Awards. The awards will be held on 12th January 2013 in Mumbai.

BARFI! with unmatched performances by its lead cast and an enchanting story, bagged the highest number of nominations including Best Picture, Best Story, Best Director for Anurag Basu, Best Actor and Best Actress in the main and popular category for Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra, Best Promising Newcomer – Female, Best Background Score, Best Music, Best Playback Singer – Male, Best Lyrics, Best Cinematography and Best Editing.

Critically acclaimed PAAN SINGH TOMAR received 11 nominations that include Best Picture, Best Actor for Irrfan, Best Director for Tigmanshu Dhulia, Best Ensemble Cast, Best Background Score, Best Story, Best Screenplay, Best Dialogue, Best Editing and Best Costumes.

One of the year’s biggest blockbusters ROWDY RATHORE received 3 nominations for Best Actor and Actress in the popular category for Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha and a nomination in the Best Action category. LUV SHUV TEY CHICKEN KHURANA received 3 nominations for Best Actor in a Comic Role for Rajesh Sharma, Best Promising Director for Sameer Sharma and Best Ensemble Cast. EK MAIN AUR EKK TU received 2 nominations, HEROINE and ARJUN – THE WARRIOR PRINCE received 1 nomination for Best Actress and Best Animation film respectively.
