His AMIT SAHNI KI LIST has just released and despite arriving at a minimal number of screens with controlled promotion, it has managed to show a gradual rise at the box office. ”Guess that pretty much showcases how my career has a whole has progressed too. It has been akin to working in a company where every year you get a Diwali bonus, performance based increments and promotion. So as you can see, I started off with one scene in a film, then went to do five scenes, made some progress with supporting roles, had something good going for me in ensemble affairs and now finally I have six films as a solo lead. So in a way, it is not a bad deal at all,” smiles Vir who has never shied away from cracking a joke at his expense.

Known best for his bald act in DELHI BELLY, Vir did have a blink-and-you-would-miss part in LOVE AAJ KAL before playing a supporting role in BADMAASH COMPANY. Later he also featured in ensemble affair GO GOA GONE and while his solo lead act in SOOPER SE OOPAR went unnoticed due to poor release of the film, REVOLVER RANI and then a cameo in SHAADI KE SIDE EFFECTS got him further visibility. Now with AMIT SAHNI KI LIST, he has managed to make an impression as a solo lead, which is a decent victory for the actor.
”See, I came straight from standup comedy so I was not overtly comfortable in front of the camera. I kind of learnt how to act along the way. I am kind of glad that it happened this way because had I been launched at the very beginning as a hero, I would have messed it up. Imagine me making my debut with REVOLVER RANI; that would have screwed the whole thing. Thankfully, good things are happening now,” confesses Vir.
