Vivan Bhatena:The antagonist in JUDWAA 2 is way apart from the original

The villain played by Vivan Bhatena in JUDWAA 2 will have an amazing comic streak to him unlike the previous installment where Mukesh Rishi played the tough baddie.  According to Vivan, who was last seen with Aamir Khan in DANGAL, there’s a very funny side to his character as a result of which he keeps getting into a confrontation with both the Judwaas, oblivious that he is taking on two and not one Varun Dhawan. “It is nowhere close to the original antagonist played by Mukesh Rishi. There’s an amusing side to him, despite his tough exterior. The confrontation between the two is typically a day-today issue about the stupid ego hassles that prompt two people to get into a fight, after which it escalates into something serious. The funny thing is that it is not to my character’s knowledge that he is taking on both the Judwaas. Even the action in the film is not violent, it is very relatable,” shares Vivan.

The Khatron Ke Khiladi winner found Varun to be a formidable opponent when it came to the fights in the film, “Both of us performed a majority of stunts without our doubles and some of the action is mind-blowing. Varun is adept at action,” he recalls.

According to the actor, who was last seen in DANGAL, David Dhawan’s comedy in the film has a very old-worldly charm to it, “That’s the beauty of the film; it is not in your face comedy but replete with comic situations typical of David sir’s style. There’s a very different sensibility to it and it is way apart from the modern-day comedies which bank on raunchy comedy and double-meaning jokes. There is not a single sex-related reference or low grade humour in the film, but it is a laugh riot,” reveals Vivan.

Talking about how he and Varun had a great time on the sets while enacting the comic scenes, he further added, “Varun is like a buddy now. We had a blast on the sets. We were so much into that freaky mood that both of us would often be reprimanded by David sir. He was also a father figure to me and when Varun would run away, I would be the second punching bag.”

JUDWAA 2 is all set to open to packed house with the extraordinary advance booking for the film. “It is reminiscent of those David Dhawan comedies that brought the house down,” Vivan signs off smiling.
