Vivek Agnihotri is through with his vacation period after the success of HATE STORY. He is now ready to kick-start his next film FREEDOM and just like his earlier efforts, he plans to jump genres and get creative with his visual narrative and overall treatment.
“In any case for me, filmmaking is more of a hobby than a profession,” says Vivek, “I like to be challenged and placed in the dark alleys where I can discover newer aspects of life. When I made CHOCOLATE, no one had made suspense thrillers for a long time. Then when I conceptualized DHAN DHANA DHAN GOAL, I not just made it football centric, I also placed it in English football league, which by the way was quite a complicated thing to do.”
Stating the reason behind that, he continues, “People told me that sports based films do not work, least of all the ones that are set in a foreign land. However I just wanted to make it, just the way I was bowled over by HATE STORY. I wanted to make a woman oriented film and though it was set as an erotica, I know what I was trying to achieve here. I had a similar provocation to BUDDHA IN A TRAFFIC JAM as well; I know I am sitting on something really special here.”

He further explains that a film with a theme as sensitive as this needs to be nurtured and hence he plans to roll out an innovative campaign that well establishes the true flavour of BUDDHA IN A TRAFFIC JAM.
“I can afford to be patient enough to bring the film at a right time after a right messaging,” he says.
Meanwhile he would also be ready to make a grand announcement about the final cast of the film very soon.
