Though he had signed two films earlier, his first release turned out to be OMKARA, which in a way was a blessing in disguise, as he made a mark for himself amongst actors of the caliber of Ajay Devgn and Saif Ali Khan. No prizes for guessing that we are talking about the highly versatile talent, Deepak Dobriyal.
When we caught up with Deepak and asked him the reason for not doing Aanand L. Rai’s RAANJHANAA, especially after the ‘Pappi Ji’ act in TANU WEDS MANU, he clarified, ”Anand Ji is a very nice person and he was kind enough to offer me, a similar to TWM role in RAANJHANAA too. But I don’t believe in repeating myself, as I had explored all the nuances (as Pappi) in TANU WEDS MANU- The hero’s friend, helping him find his love !So I politely turned down the offer. It was a mutually agreed upon decision.”
CHECK OUT: Ramu refuses to dilute content for NALS
Here is hoping to see more of Deepak, may be in TANU WEDS MANU 2 or RAANJHANAA 2 (just our fertile imagination!). As for now, we await his next release CHOR CHOR SUPER CHOR, But more on that later!
