The Riteish Deshmukh and Pulkit Samrat starrer BANGISTAN is in the news for reasons more than one. Besides BANGISTAN being banned in Pakistan, it has also hit the headlines for getting postponed abruptly. Yes the Karan Anshuman directed film has been pushed ahead. The film that was scheduled to release on July 31st, 2015 will now hit the screens on 7th August. Riteish Deshmukh took to a micro-blogging site and confirmed, “Bangistan Now Releases On 7th August.”

And we believe there are quite some reasons which must have induced the makers to take such an impromptu decision. Firstly, the trade is abuzz with the news that S. S. Rajamouli’s blockbuster BAAHUBALI and Salman Khan starrer super hit film BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN are still rocking at BO. The two films have created unprecedented numbers and the audience still can’t get over it.
Further, BANGISTAN was earlier pitted against Ajay Devgn-Tabu starrer DRISHYAM, as both the films were set to release on the same day (July 31st). Also the buzz around Nishikanth Kamat’s DRISHYAM is pretty high and trade is upbeat about this film. In such scenario, it would have only affected BANGISTAN business to a great deal. So it was advisable for BANGISTAN to move ahead.
Moreover, the new release date (August 7th) would benefit the Riteish Deshmukh and Pulkit Samrat starrer, as the film would enjoy solo run.
Starring Jacqueline Fernandez in a brief role, BANGISTAN is produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani.
Well, we are sure the rescheduling of BANGISTAN will be fruitful for the people associated with it.
