2011 in particular has been the year when new paradigms related to fashion have been conveyed through cinema. The thin dividing line that used to distinguish between fashion shows and cinema characterized by models walking the fashion show and film stars doing their part about fashion through cinema became blurred and the film stars took over the cat walks in a big way. Result was that during 2011, there hardly was a fashion show that did not find representation from the world of cinema on the cat walk. Here are some of the significant role changers that gave a new idiom to fashion through either cinema or modeling.

Sonam Kapoor: The actor who diffused the difference between fashion and cinema in a big way was Sonam Kapoor who graced fashion shows with relative ease, as did she come up with fashion statements through scores of films that she did, be it MAUSAM or THANK YOU. She set the trend for fashion when she was invited at the Cannes Film Festival and when she was part of the reception party to welcome Tom Cruise in India to promote MISSION IMPOSSIBLE-4.
