While Bollywood stars may have delighted us on celluloid with their charm and charisma, when it comes to pushing or encouraging their children to join film industry they are little apprehensive and behave like any other ‘aam’ (common) parents. Though they are not averse, but somehow they prefer their kids taking up some other profession or rather getting settled. Here are the examples of five star parents, who were not so cool about their kids’ choice of becoming a film-star. There could be more examples too however, we could list only five of them.

Sridevi: The ‘Hawa-Hawai’ actress, who enthralled us for years, was one of the most sought-after actresses in her heydays. She was every guy’s desirable lady, most beautiful & gorgeous actress around, a terrific performer. But now that her daughter Jhanvi Kapoor has grown and seems to be Bollywood ready, Sridevi is not completely okay with her daughter’s choice of taking her mother’s legacy forward. In an interview recently, Sridevi confessed that as a parent it would give her greater joy to see her daughter married than she joining films.

Saif Ali Khan:The nawab of Bollywood just recently had expressed his thoughts about his beautiful daughter Sara Ali Khan entering in Bollywood. He reportedly in an interview with DNA stated that his unhappiness joining Bollywood as he feels its an unstable profession. He said, “I am a little nervous. Fear is the most driving factor in the industry. I am not looking down on acting, it’s just it is not the most stable profession. And everyone lives in constant fear. And there is no guarantee that despite doing your best, you will succeed. This is not the life, any parent would want for their children”. And his sentence sent a notion that he wasn’t really keen on her doing films. So, the actor later went on to clarify that he is thrilled at Sara's foray into films but owing to the uncertainty of the profession, he worries for her. Now, we don’t know if Saif changed his stand so as to show a favourable side to media or he was insisted to change his statement or else he genuinely wants his daughter to be in films but being a doting dad a bit worried.

SANJAY DUTT and TRISHLA DUTT

Sanjay Dutt: A few years ago when there were speculations about Sanjay Dutt’s daughter Trishala Dutt joining films, the protective & caring father had made it clear in few interviews that he doesn’t encourage his daughter getting into films. It will never happen because Dutt’s sisters and niece also never joined films. Also for the fact that Trishala has studied forensic science so it doesn’t make sense.
