THE EXORCIST (1973) - Never in the history of cinema has there been a horror movie nominated for 10 Oscars. And The Exorcist did for many awesome reasons. Wish we could travel back in time and watch this marvel on the big screen and have a taste of the influence this film would have left on the audience of that era. Do watch it for the unforgettable background score and Mercedes McCambridge's devilish voice.

THE SHINING (1980) - The movie is a perfect psychological thriller. Jack, an aspiring but failed writer undertakes the winter-caretaker duty of a hotel on the Colorado mountains. The characters give an atmosphere of spookiness around them. Slowly Jack starts showing the symptoms of a mentally ill person (hallucinations, sudden rages, depression). It is quite a watch to see how his illness develops in a terrible murderous fashion. Wendy's courage and Danny's apparent "psychic" powers add to the charm of the movie.

IT (1990) - Tommy Lee Wallace does an exceptional job of balancing the horror elements with the comedic aspects in the movie. Stephen King's IT isn't your typical horror movie, but the film relies on creating the atmosphere through tension. It is also commendable that all the scary scenes take place during daytime. Overall, this one is a must watch,

TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE (1974) - Very disturbing, makes you feel helpless while watching. Psychotic elements displayed by characters are absolutely stunning as if they are craving for blood in real life. This massacre ends up with a sigh of relief for both audience and girl in the movie.

HALLOWEEN (1978) - Michael Myers is pretty scary for every child, don't think this as a regular slasher like Friday the 13th, but this a film that still has the person who you might always see in Halloween parks. Thrillers are always the edge of the seat and enjoyable. Now, almost after 40 years. We now have a new HALLOWEEN film released last week and guess what it turned out to be amazing.

Now, what are you waiting for, go and binge watch the movies and get spooked. Happy Halloween!!!!
