KAABIL (2017):
The upcoming romantic action thriller KAABIL has the two drop dead gorgeous actors Hrithik Roshan and Yami Gautam playing blind characters. Though Hrithik has already played a mentally disabled character in his 2003 super-hit film KOI…MIL GAYA, this is the first time when the Greek-god look actor will be playing a blind character onscreen.

Bollywood’s current sensation Deepika Padukone played the challenging character of a blind girl very early in her career in LAFANGEY PARINDEY. Though the film didn’t do well at the box-office, Deepika Padukone did manage to pull off the role quite well.

FANAA (2006):
In Kunal Kohli’s romantic crime drama FANAA, Kajol played Zooni Beg, a blind Kashmiri girl who falls in love with Rehan Qadri (Aamir Khan) and gets separated by terrorist bombing that apparently kills Rehan. FANAA received mixed response at the box office, while Kajol’s performance was appreciated widely.

BLACK (2005):
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s BLACK is one of the outstanding performances of Rani Mukerji’s career. The actress swept every one off their feet with her terrific portrayal of a blind and deaf girl. The film was inspired by the Hellen Keller’s life and struggle. Rani bagged the best actress award in majority of the awards shows and the film became a milestone in her career.

AANKHEN (2002):
Directed by Vipul Shah, AANKHEN had not just one but three blind characters played by Akshay Kumar, Arjun Rampal and Paresh Rawal respectively. All the characters blew the viewers’ mind by their acting chops and the films plot was also very novel. The heist thriller drama was a hit at the box-office and apparently its sequel is also in the pipe-line.

DUSHMAN (1998):
The psychological thriller film starring Sanjay Dutt, Kajol and Ashutosh Rana in the lead was a huge hit at the box office. Sanjay Dutt played, a blind military veteran who helps Naina(played by Kajol) to defeat the fear of Gokul(Ashutosh Rana) both physically and mentally. Sanjay Dutt’s portrayal was very convincing and touching.
