When A STAR IS BORN was released last month, it was the culmination of a long journey to bring this film on a larger scale and at one point, Beyoncé was supposed to be the star of the film. But then Beyonce got pregnant. Beyonce had announced about her pregnancy during her performance at the MTV Video Music Awards. The producers had earlier finalized the February 2012 start date for the film but delayed it due to her pregnancy.

During the film's delay, the makers didn't had the lead actor, the producers had a list of actors to star opposite Beyonce, but with no progress in the casting and in 2012 Beyonce backed out from the project and almost after 3 years Bradley agreed to sign the project. The film went to become Bradley Cooper's directorial debut and finally saw Jack and Ally played by Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga.

Though Beyonce was always the first choice since the film's announcement, eventually her pregnancy and delay in casting for a male actor, made her change the decision.

While in 2015, Cooper was in final talks to make his directorial debut with the film, and potentially to star with Beyoncé, who was again in talks to join, while Cooper did become the male lead but Warner Bros. reportedly couldn’t afford Beyonce's fee. On August 16, 2016, it was reported that Lady Gaga had officially became the female lead and the studio green-lit the project to begin production by early 2017. It marks the fourth remake of the original 1937 film.

Recently, the National Board of Review announced its award-winning films and performances for 2018, and Lady Gaga carried the Best Actress award for her performance as Ally in A STAR IS BORN.

While, all life is a game of luck, both the talented ladies received their own rewards, the film gave Lady Gaga the opportunity to shine on the big screen, while Beyonce received the most precious gift from God, as she was blessed with twins Rumi and Sir Carter, joining the five-year-old daughter Blue Ivy Carter. We especially hope to see Beyoncé to star in a film of her own with music someday.

A STAR IS BORN went on to become the emotional musical masterpiece we've seen on silver screen.
