Just a few days back it was reported that Netflix and Marvel had cancelled Iron Fist for the third season, on Friday, Luke Cage became the second Marvel Netflix show to get cancelled after two seasons.

After the cancellation of the show, the 2 companies stated that "Unfortunately, Marvel's Luke Cage will not return for a third season. Everyone at Marvel Television and Netflix is grateful to the dedicated showrunner, writers, cast and crew who brought Harlem's Hero to life for the past two seasons, and to all the fans who have supported the series."

Season 2 of Luke Cage, starring Mike Colter, was aired this June. Reportedly, the makers were working on scripts for the third season, but creative differences between Netflix and the show’s team led to the end of the hero’s run. If speculation is correct, maybe Disney and Marvel are planning something big, as earlier Disney announced that they'll be coming up with a streaming service and they'll acquire all the Disney shows from Netflix and will stream on their service. Hoping to see both Luke Cage and Iron Fist will continue on Disney's new streaming service that is expected to launch next year.

Meanwhile, Jessica Jones was renewed for a third season back in April, while Daredevil Season 3 premiered on Oct 19, the same day that Luke Cage’s cancellation was announced.
