After a couple of change in plans for the release of AGGAR, the romantic thriller is now positively looking at a 14th September release.
Confirming the developments, Varun Bajaj, co-producer of AGGAR says, "Yes, the plans have been finalized for the release of the week. 14th September is the day that has been penciled in and the promotion is now on full swing to make sure that the film gets a rocking reception all over on it's arrival."
But why the delay? Last heard there were plans of bringing it on in the month of August itself? "There were couple of factors that promoted us to rethink about the film's release strategy. We could have brought the film in August but the music is now on an upswing and we wanted it to reach a particular level before we unleash the film. Mithoon's music plays an integral part of the film and we wanted the impact to enhance manifold before the film hits the screens. 'Nach Le' is now a chartbuster while the title track along with 'Ke Bin Tere' have met with a very good response too."
Carry on. "Apart from that there were number of films releasing in the month of August and bringing on AGGAR during the same period would have been a little too tight due to immense competition around. Why to threaten the prospects of the film when we know that it would be better to wait for a couple of weeks or so and enjoy a release in a week where there is minimal competition? As is the situation now, the weekend of 14th September only has NANHE JAISALMER coming in parallel to AGGAR so we are confident that our film would find the kind of audience it truly deserves," says Varun honestly.
Directed by Ananth Mahadevan who had directed first in the trilogy of his thrillers AKSAR last year, AGGAR has an unusual star cast comprising of Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Udita Goswami and Sophie Chaudhary. The film has music by Mithoon with Sayeed Quadri penning the lyrics.
