Akshay Kumar’s conviction in GOLD teaser will make you root for him

KHILADI Akshay Kumar never fails to bring fresh subjects on the table. Now be it patriotism or talking about social causes the actor is doing it all with élan. The actor’s upcoming biographical comedy-drama PAD MAN will be releasing this week and yesterday the actor unveiled the teaser of his next film GOLD.


The teaser of GOLD showcases Akshay Kumar acing the 1946's periodic look, as the film traces India's first Golden win at the Olympics for Hockey.


Akshay Kumar portrays the character of a Hockey Player who won India's first gold medal at the Olympics. Set in the late 40's the teaser captures the essence of the period perfectly.


While India had been winning Gold medals playing for British, a man (Akshay) dreams of winning the Gold for India. Now whether he will be able to form his own team or not and if they succeed at winning the Gold in Olympics forms the crux of the film’s story.


Sharing the teaser on a micro-blogging site Akshay Kumar wrote, "Abhi tak India chup tha. Ab hum log bolega aur duniya sunega. #GoldTeaser Out Now. @excelmovies @FarOutAkhtar @ritesh_sid @kagtireema".

GOLD marks to be the first association between Akshay Kumar and Excel Entertainment led by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar. Directed by Reema Kagti the film marks the big screen debut of Mouni Roy.

GOLD is about India's first Olympic medal win as a free nation in the year 1946 at Games of the XIV Olympiad, London. The period film has been shot across the UK and India and also stars Kunal Kapoor, Amit Sadh and Vineet Singh.

Staying true to the genre of the film, GOLD is set to release on Independence Day this year.
