Alia Bhatt: I was nervous thinking what If mom doesn’t perform well!
Alia Bhatt has always entertained us with various films like STUDENT OF YEAR, BADRINATH KI DULHANIA.
She has always done roles which are different and is favourite among masses.
Her film RAAZI was released yesterday which is about Indian and Pakistan’s relationship and how a girl is the key character. Directed by Meghna Gulzar she will be working with Vicky Kaushal for the first time and Alia is sharing screen space with her mother as well for the first time.
Post RAZZI, she has three films one with Ranveer singh GULLY BOY, then Varun Dhawan , Sanjay Dutt and multi starrer star cast film KALANK as well as BRAHMASTRA with Ranbir Kapoor.
In conversation with Alia Bhatt as she speaks about working with her mother, her wish to do more comedy films and how was it working with Vicky Kaushal.
This is the first time you are working with Vicky Kaushal, how did you guys work on such intense scenes, was it awkward initially to which Alia said, “It was great. He is fabulous. Ever since I saw MASSAN, I was like, he is someone I have to work with because I can learn so much from him. He is very much essential in the film. His character is very silent, but his silence says a lot. And Sehmat is quite nervous about her connection with Iqbal. I think I would not able to protray the character of Sehmat, if Iqbal was being played by such a strong actor.”
You are also working with you mom Soni Razdan for the first time were you nervous, “I was nervous. But I was not nervous about what she will think of me, but I was more nervous for her (laughs). Like what if she does not perform well. But as soon as we started shooting I realised that she is way ahead of me; in her personal attitude and language and everything.”
With so many films on platter what kind of roles excite you but you aren’t offered much, “Ya, I want to do a comedy film, but no one approaches me for a comedy film. They think I like to cry.”
Here’s wishing all the best to Alia for all her upcoming films.
