Amitabh Bachchan: Singing is frightening
Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has been singing for the last three decades in Bollywood and even after an illustrious 37 year old career that started with the wonderful kid song ‘mere pass hi aao mere doston’ from Mr. NATARLAL in 1979, the icon of the icon still feels that singing is frightening..

Mr. Bachchan, who has sung a soulful number ‘Kyu Re’ in his highly awaited emotional thriller TE3N co –starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Vidya Balan.
Today during the music launch of TE3N, the megastar shared his 3 decade journey from Mr. NATWARLAL to TE3N and said that “singing is still frightening”. Surprising the whole gathering who couldn't believe that the singer who gave the anthem of Holi in ‘Rang Barse’ from SILSILA to all the Indians round the globe gets petrified when it comes to singing.
In his complete element and at his humorous best Mr. Bachchan said that when the music director Clinton Cerejo, lyricist Amitabh Bhattacharya and director of the film Ribhu Dasgupta gave him the song ‘Kyu Re’ requesting him to shed his trademark deep baritone voice and get into the skin of his character of an aged weak and defeated man John Biswas in the film. Mr. Bachchan due to his personal attachment normally does his singing at the studio of late musician Adesh Shrivastav. But here, the music director Clinton Cerejo was sitting very close to Mr. Bachchan and suggesting retakes..
Mr. Bachchan adds humorously, “Clinton was just six inches away from my face and was repeatedly asking me to improvise on the rubbish singing I do. Its frightening for a non-singer like me.”
