Young talent Ankit Tiwari comes with a third chartbuster in a row! After creating waves with numbers like ‘Sun Raha Hai’ from AASHIQUI 2 and ‘Galliyaan’ from EK VILLAIN, his new song ‘Kuch Toh Hua Hai’ from the upcoming film SINGHAM RETURNS, featuring Ajay Devgn and Kareena Kapoor is now talk of the town!

‘Kuch Toh Hua Hai’s rendition reminds us of Ankit’s recent popular song ‘Galliyaan’. Ask him if SINGHAM RETURNS song is a hangover of EK VILLAIN number and Ankit gushes, “No SINGHAM RETURNS tune was created a year back. While, ‘Galliyaan’ from EK VILLAIN came much later. I think I came up with ‘Galliyaan’ somewhere in February this year.”

Besides giving a hit song, Ankit has created a record of sorts with SINGHAM RETURNS. Ankit made the song in a span of 24 hrs.
“It is for the first time that I made a song within 24 hrs. Since the makers wanted ‘Kuch Toh Hua Hai’ song to shoot immediately with the actors, I completed the shoot mix, which is in the scratch form, in a record time. Though I had the composition ready, the audio and female dubbing, fine tuning of the song was left. These days it’s quite common in the industry that a scratch level is used in advance. However, SINGHAM RETURNS case was absolutely amazing. No one has ever done it. Usually even to make a scratch of a song, you require at least a week,” says Ankit.

He further adds, “SINGHAM RETUNRS was an experience. I felt the pressure as it was done in quick succession.”

Ask Ankit how he came up with a romantic number in an action extravaganza SINGHAM RETURNS and he says, “I didn’t come up with the number. It was Rohit Shetty’s requirement. He came up the situation and whatever the director demands it is made accordingly. The whole team liked it!”

And what about Ajay Devgn and Kareena Kapoor’s response? “I haven’t met Ajay Devgn and Kareena Kapoor. I am yet to receive a response from their end,” says Ankit.
While most of his songs are both composed and sung by him, probe Ankit if that is a norm of taking up projects or he is comfortable crooning his own compositions and he reveals, “No it’s not like that. In a couple of movies I have just composed and not sung alongside. It’s the director’s call if they feel they take the decision accordingly. Like for e.g., I am not singing in Ramesh Sippy’s next SONALI CABLE, where Vipin Aneja, a new singer, is going to lend his voice.”

On a parting note, ask out of the three tracks ‘Sun Raha Hai’, ‘Galliyaan’ and ‘Kuch Toh Hua Hai’, which one is special to him and Ankit says, “It’s like choosing between your babies. All of them are truly special. This is a take-off my career!”
