Anurag Kashyap came forward to launch the poster of GURGAON that stars TV hottie Ragini Khanna, Akshay Oberoi, Pankaj Tripathi, Aamir Bashir, Shalini Vatsa . The directorial debut of National award-winning cinematographer, Shanker Raman (FROZEN, PEEPLI LIVE fame), GURGAON, a noir thriller slated for a pan India release on 4th August 2017.
The poster features the entire cast on it, where Pankaj Tripathi is seen playing father of Ragini Khanna and Akshay Oberoi. However, we can spot that Ragini’s face has been scribbled, as if to strike her off from the family.
Anurag Kashyap who launched the poster of GURGAON, said, “I saw GURGAON last year and for me it is genuinely one of the best suspense thrillers, I've seen in the longest time and it's in my list of best movies. The amount of tension the movie builds, it’s not only engaging but it also has some incredible performances. It’s worth watching.”
Ragini Khanna said, “When I read the script, I was very excited that the director saw me as an actor and not just as a bubbly girl out of a TV show. To get an opportunity which is so creative, is very evolving for an actor. It was liberating for me, as I explored a lot of untapped emotional areas and it was a journey of self-discovery. Shanker was very generous, so it was an enriching experience working on GURGAON.”
Akshay Oberoi said, “I am really excited to be a part of this interesting project. It has been such a pleasure working with Shanker, Ajay and the entire cast. The story is about a strained relationship between a father and a son, set in the fastest growing city in India, GURGAON”
GURGAON was selected at Work-In-Progress Lab of NFDC Film Bazaar in 2015, won the Prasad DI Award in the fiction feature category.
