Jodha AkbarNot many will know that after the super success of LAGAAN (2001), the next project that Ashutosh zeroed in was JODHAA AKBAR. Actually, writer Hyder Ali had narrated the story/script of JODHAA AKBAR to Ashutosh, even before SWADES (2004). In fact, Ashutosh Gowariker found the project very exciting but decided to take it up after finishing the Shah Rukh Khan starrer, SWADES.

The reason for the above being that Ashutosh had realized that the grand spectacle of the historical demanded elaborate and time consuming research and arrangements on a massive scale. Therefore, it was only after a painstaking phase of pre-production and research that the filming of the magnum-opus commenced on 6th November 2006, in Rajasthan.

Going by the response to its theatrical promos, it appears that all the efforts that have gone into the making of the grand project seem to have paid off. And the Hrithik-Aishwarya starrer is keenly awaited on 25th January 2008.
