Bhansali bows down in gratitude in front of Akshay Kumar for pushing PAD MAN

The start of the year has been a hell of roller coaster ride for film industry with filmmakers pushing the release dates of their film in the wake of reshuffling of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s PADMAAVAT.
This led to clash between two biggest film of the year Akshay Kumar’s PAD MAN and Deepika Padukone’s PADMAAVAT. Both the films were supposed to release next week on 25TH January. But now Akshay Kumar-starrer PAD MAN has got a new release date. The R Balki directorial which was supposed to be the solo release over the extended Republic Day weekend will now be releasing on February 9.
However showing his generosity and their by avoiding the major clash Akshay Kumar who also happens to be PAD MAN’s producer decided to shift his film's release date at the request of filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, whose PADMAAVAT has been mired with controversies ever since its announcement.
Akshay held a press conference at his residence last evening and confirmed that he has pushed PAD MAN as releasing PADMAAVAT first was the need of the hour.
Akshay said, “It is essential for them to release the film PADMAAVAT as quickly as possible, so I agreed to move the release date of my film PADMAN ahead. It will now be released on February 9.”
At the press conference also present was Sanjay Leela Bhansali who interacted with the media for the first time after PADMAAVAT row which began in 2017. Bhansali joined hands in front of Akshay Kumar and thanked him with gratitude that he pushed his film ahead thereby creating a clear window for PADMAAVAT.
Bhansali said, “I'll be grateful to him for lifetime. You all know our film got made after facing a lot of difficulties. We chose January 25 as the release date, which was Akshayji’s. So, today we requested Akshay if he could shift the release. He is such a big star. It would have been a problem for us had the two films released together.”
“He is aware of all our difficulties. So, it didn’t take him even two minutes and he said, ‘You do whatever and whenever you want, I am with you.’ It takes a large heart and a lot of goodness to do that. I will be grateful to him for a lifetime for what he has done. I think the world can see that this is the industry, which stands by each other and supports each other. The whole fraternity is proud of what Akshay has done. Otherwise it would have been impossible for us to release our film,” he added further.
The filmmaker, who has previously produced two of Akshay’s films GABBAR IS BACK and ROWDY RATHORE, said the actor did not take more than two minutes to oblige when he requested to move his film from January 25.
To make the tensed moment a little light, Akshay jokingly told Bhansali that now he should make ROWDY RATHORE 2 for him.
While PADMAAVAT gets a solo release now PAD MAN will be clashing with AIYAARY and SONU KE TITU KI SWEETY. Earlier to avoid clash with PADMAN and PADMAAVAT, the makers of AIYAARY had postponed their film to Feb 9. But despite doing that their film will be clashing with PADMAN because of the change in its release date. And SONU KE TITU KI SWEETY which was supposed to have a solo release on Feb 9 will either have to face a clash or its maker’s will have to think of changing their
release date.
All of a sudden 9 February is an important date.
