The 2018 Asian Games (Indonesian: Pesta Olahraga Asian Games 2018), officially known as the 18th Asian Games and also known as Jakarta-Palembang 2018, was a pan-Asian multi-sport event being held from 18 August to 2 September 2018 in the Indonesian cities of Jakarta and Palembang. Players across various countries had participated in this titan sports event including India.

This has been a golden year, as India has set a benchmark by achieving gold at Asian Games 2018. Our sportsmen and women proved that India is nowhere less than other countries. India bagged 69 medals at the event, 15 Gold, 24 Silver and 30 Bronze that makes a really huge count.  Badminton tycoon Saina Nehwal clinched a bronze medal whereas Bajrang Punia and Vinesh Phogat bagged gold medals in wrestling. Hitting the bull’s eye, Saurabh Chaudhary too stunned with his victory in Shooting (Men’s 10-meter air pistol) event. Swapna Barman also celebrated by winning gold in Athletics (Women’s Heptathlon) event along with many more proud winners. Kudos to the winners for engraving their name on the wall of fame.

It takes a lot of efforts and time to reach such a level and the outcome was visible on the ground. Indians showered their love and respect towards their true sportsmanship and so did our Bollywood. Our film industry too could not resist without paying respect and congratulatory wishes to the achievers. Such kind of wishes from so big personalities sparks a kind of motivation and it encourages more to accomplish the goals. Actors like Suniel Shetty, Akshay Kumar, Rishi Kapoor, Dia Mirza and others actively wished our gems on social media. God of Cricket Sachin Tendulkar too was seen cheering and worshipping the victory of our But there was one person who constantly poured his congratulatory wishes and immense respect to the athletes.

None other than evergreen actor Anil Kapoor had been very active during the Asian Games 2018 as he did not miss out anyone to appreciate the achievements of Indian players. Not being a sportsman by profession the actor did not leave a chance to glorify sports and its importance, this shows the kind of respect he has for a profession which he doesn’t even belong to. Since the beginning, till the end, Anil Kapoor was constantly active on social media to just cheer up our participants. Here’s a series of his tweets wishing the best to the winners.
