This week’s new releases include, Anupam Kher and Jimmy Sheirgill starrer RANCHI DIARIES, Screenshot Media and Entertainments’ KAUN MERA KAUN TERA and the Ram Kumar Pawadia directed ISHQ KA MANJAN etc. As things stand, the audience is holding on to its purse strings and will loosen it only for Ajay Devgn’s GOLMAAL AGAIN and the Aamir Khan offering, SECRET SUPERSTARS.
Last week’s premier release, Saif Ali Khan's CHEF, faced outright rejection and may turn out to be the actor’s lowest grosser of recent times. The film barely managed a paltry 3 crore plus during its opening weekend. The outcome is all the more sad as the it’s an offering from the acclaimed AIRLIFT director, Raja Krishna Menon. Time for Saif to smell the coffee and go in for multi-starrers. The other releases of the week, Milind Dhaimade directed TU HAI MERA SUNDAY, Annu Kapoor starrer MUAVZA- ZAMEEN KA PAISA and Filmquest Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. Production’s CALL FOR FUN etc fared worse. And just as we had predicted, the week old JUDWAA 2 was indeed more than a handful for the new releases as well as CHEF.
