The prominent release of the week is Vidhu Vinod Chopra Productions and Fox Star Studios’ Anil, Juhi, Sonam and Rajkummar starrer EK LADKI KO DEKHA TOH AISA LAGA. Then there is Farhan Akhtar’s much delayed prestigious project, FAKIR OF VENICE. Interesting promos, chartbusting  songs and above all, current top star, Rajkummar Rao, riding high on the blockbuster success of STREE and presence of stars like Anil, Juhi and Sonam, has surely created a good hype for Shelly Chopra Dhar’s debut directorial venture. Having said that the radical theme of ELKDTAL may keep a section of the family audience away. FAKIR OF VENICE on other hand,  will find limited patronage.

Coming to the face -off  between MANIKARNIKA-THE QUEEN OF JHANSI and THACKERAY,  both impressed in their own way. While Kangana’s  100 crore plus budget MANIKARNIKA is likely to end the first week netting a decent  58 crore, Nawazuddin’s 25 crore plus budgeted  THACKERAY  (Hindi) is likely to be in the fair 15-16 crore range. Additionally, the Marathi version of THACKERAY is also having a good run.
