A battle royal was expected at the box-office this week, as FilmKraft’s Hrithik Roshan, Ronit Roy and Yami Gautam starrer KAABIL (released at 2600 plus screens) was pitted against Red Chillies Entertainments’ Shah Rukh Khan, Nawazuddin and Mahira starrer RAEES (at 3250 plus screens). Unfortunately, the face off turned out to be a rather one sided affair as the first day honours (KAABIL 10 crore & RAEES 20 crore) went to RAEES. Having said that, these are early days and KAABIL is sure to come into its own and Republic Day has seen the Hrithik starrer putting up an impressive show, especially at the single screens! As per early trends, RAEES has also embarked on super start in the overseas.

Both the new releases of last week, Apex Entertainment’s COFFEE WITH D and Dream Merchant Films venture, MAJAZ- AE GHAM –E- DIL KYA KAROON, have failed to entice the audience.
