Coming Friday will witness the release of the next in the COMMANDO series, the Vidyut Jammwal and Adah Sharma starrer, COMMANDO 2- THE BLACK MONEY TRAIL. The other one being Arbaaz Khan-Manjari Fadnnis-Himansh Kohli starrer JEENA ISI KA NAAM HAI. However, given the success of the first edition (COMMANDO), and burning hot topical tagline, ‘the black money trail’, the film is sure to embark on a reasonable start and it will be the front runner.

Perhaps the biggest disappointment of the first quarter of the year turned out to be Vishal Bhardwaj’s Saif, Shahid and Kangana starrer RANGOON. The film saw a dull start and could not improve much, ending the first week netting around 16-17 crore. As things stand, the film is unlikely to get through to even a recovery status. RANGOON has also disappointed in the overseas grossing $1.15m with £52,000 from UK and $315,000 from the US, during the opening weekend (24-26 February).

The other releases of last week, , Pooja Entertainment India Ltd.’s MONA DARLING, the Bipulendra Haloi directed 9 O’CLOCK and Nana Patekar’s WEDDING ANNIVERSARY fared even worse.

Meanwhile, the Rana Duggubati starrer, THE GHAZI ATTACK maintained very well netting nearly 13 crore during the opening week from India, which is very creditable for a Hindi dubbed version.
