Bullying, harassment and messages from the hater on the internet, are the reasons why stars are going off on social media. It is a known fact that spending a lot of time browsing social media is not good for mental health and even stars agree to it. So sometimes to protect themselves, they decide to take a break from social media.
Popular singers Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande and Ed Sheeran had quit for peace. In fact, Kim Kardashian who loves Social media also took a couple of months pause from social media after she was robbed in Paris.
In 2018 alone, many well-known celebrities have opted to quit social media, whether it is Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. Some celebrities have more serious reasons to quit and others may have just wanted to give themselves a rest. Taylor Swift used her disappearance to promote a new album. The singer wiped all her social media in 2017, but it turned out to be a big marketing skill to promote her then-forthcoming album Reputation. She just deleted all her posts but kept her account.

After giving birth to son Angelo in 2012, Adele received some hurtful, insulting comments on social media. But the singer had claimed her lack of Twitter presence is actually due to her big mouth.
Demi Lovato announced on Twitter in 2016, that she was quitting both that social media platform but on the next day itself, she rejoined the platforms. Despite the brief departure, her action resulted in headlines on many websites.
