Chopras to colourize SADHNA and GUMRAH?
When the colourized version of MUGHAL-E-AZAM hit the bulls-eye in 2004, it led to a spate of old classics being rushed to the labs for getting their colourized 'avatars'. One of the projects, B R Chopra's NAYA DAUR (1957), was the first to hit the marquee, a couple of months back. It took Goldstone Media nearly two years for NAYA DAUR to be 'reborn' in colour. Unfortunately the movie was rejected outright by the cine-goers.
However, B R Chopra's son, Ravi Chopra, seems unfazed and it is reliably learnt that he is going ahead with his decision to get two of senior Chopra's earlier works colourized. The two films that have been chosen are SADHNA (Sunil Dutt and Vijayantimala) and GUMRAH (Ashok Kumar, Sunil Dutt and Mala Sinha).
Here's wishing the Chopras better luck with SADHNA (1958) and GUMRAH (1963).
