Tell us about your production house Asmiy Entertainments
Actually we were in real estate before and now we diversified and entered into film production a year and half ago so this is our first Hindi film production. Few more projects are into consideration but right now we are focusing on this film as we are planning to release on June 2.
What’s your upcoming project SWEETIEE WEDS NRI all about?
It’s a musical romantic comedy. It’s a youth centric and a complete entertainment film which you can sit down and watch with your entire family.
What kind of cinema do you personally believe in?
Basically our philosophy is to provide light entertainment film and later on move to social message and short films.
How did you come on board as a producer for this film?
Actually this idea came through one of my friend Cyrus Dastur, founder of Shamiana the short film club. And that’s why we came into production of this film.
Sachin Tendulkar’s biopic is releasing a week prior to your film’s release, so do you think that would affect the business of your film?
Not really. The genres of both the films are different and it’s a vacation period, our film is a youth centric and will connect with families as well.
How was your experience of working with Mahesh Bhatt’s protégé Hasnain Hyderabadwala?
Hasnain is a very nice person and has sound experience since he has worked with Mahesh Bhatt and has worked on films like RAJA HINDUSTANI, DHADKAN, and directed THE TRAIN and THE KILLER. Since he is from Mahesh Bhatt camp he has a good reach on musical romantic movies.
According to you how much important is a soundtrack of a film?
Music is forever, if music is good naturally it helps any movie in its box office collection as well as recognition. In SWEETIE WEDS NRI we have excellent music and have six songs in the film’s soundtrack. We have singers and composers like Atif Aslam, Arman Malik, Nakash Aziz, Guru Randhawa, Palash Muchhal, Arko Pravo among others.
What is more important in a given project the director, its script or the actors?
I would say that everyone’s contribution matters as everyone has to give their best so naturally it’s a joint effort of everyone.
Tell us about your upcoming ventures
There are a couple of stories under consideration but nothing that I can reveal right now. All I can say is that there are two projects in the pipe line.
