Dibakar: Emraan and Abhay are secure actors!
While he has worked with Abhay Deol before in OYE LUCKY LUCKY OYE and has repeated the actor in SHANGHAI, a film which also gives him an opportunity to work with Emraan Hashmi for the first time, director Dibakar feels that never once did he feel the pressure of playing the balancing act between the two heroes.

"When you have secure actors like Emraan and Abhay, there is no need to worry at all," says Dibakar whose last film LOVE SEX AUR DHOKHA had featured a bunch of newcomers, "They both are happy to get into an experimentation mode. Also, I strongly feel that audience today enjoys both kind of films and characters, whether they are conventional or unconventional. There is room for both."
Dibakar also reaffirms that for him, it was the script that drove the characterization instead of being carried away by the on-screen image that both Abhay and Emraan have built over last few years. Also, despite saleable actors in hand (both Emraan and Abhay come with ZINDAGI NA MILEGI DOBARA and MURDER 2-their biggest superhits till date-behind them), he hasn't gone overzealous in enhancing his film's budget.

Sharing more gyaan on keeping filmmaking interesting and hassle free, Dibakar says, "If you keep your budget tight and market it well, a film has all the greater chances to succeed with the audience. A good film is a good film; a good role is a good role. As long as actors get this basic fact right and come together to deliver an interesting film, a director's job becomes far easier. He can then well concentrate on other things as well to ensure that the film comes across as a well made package."
Well, we hope this indeed comes out to be true Dibakar. With Kalki Koechlin as the leading lady and veteran actors Prosenjit Chatterjee and Farooq Sheikh added further weight to the project, SHANGHAI is all set for 26th January release.
