Embarrassment for YRF film as show is cancelled
A Yashraj banner release not having the first show screened at a multiplex is something the production house has to look into seriously and immediately.
First Day First Show of MUJHSE FRAAANDSHIP KAROGE at IMAX Big Cinemas, Wadala, cancelled. Reason: a demand for just one ticket, and that too of a reviewer. I tried in vain to convince the guy at the counter to have the movie screened. "It's a big banner," I argue and the prints have come, so why can't it be screened? "Sir, we need to sell at least 6 tickets to run the show," is his polite, embarrassed reply.

To my query if the afternoon show will be on, I receive a reply asking to book tickets then as no ticket has been sold yet. I play it safe and book for the 11pm show - of course, I am the first to book. Thankfully, there are over 20 people for the show at night.
But what is even more astonishing is the fact that AZAAN is screened at 10.00am and there are more than 30 people at the screening! So how come, Sachiin Joshi is a crowd puller with his first film while the Yashraj Banner fails?

There's a simple remedy, I have to this malady. Aditya Chopra, in future, should make sure that his marketing team books 6 tickets in multiplexes all over Mumbai at least for the First Day First Show to avoid such embarrassment in the future. It would be an investment of roughly around Rs 1-2 lacs.
Here's the clincher: MUJHSE FRAAANDSHIP KAROGE is a far superior film and a must watch for every teenager.
