Divya Dutta is a versatile actor and has been doing various roles since a long time, her iconic films include, VEER ZAARA, BHAAG MILKA BHAAG, WELCOME TO SAJJANPUR, DELLHI 6, RAGINI MMS 2 and many more. She was last seen in BALCKMAILstarring Irrfan Khan and Kirti kulhari.
Divya has been garnering praises from veteran actors like Naseeruddin Shah, Shabana Azmi and Amitabh Bachchan to film critics. With over 100 films to her credit, the actress, who has been consistently giving noteworthy performances in her last few films, has now taken up the challenge to push the envelope with her roles. Apart from comedy roles, to our surprise she will be seen romancing on screen as well, The actress has eight films in the pipeline, including Nandita Das’ MANTO, ABHI TOH PARTY SHURU HUI HAI , FANNE KHAN, produced by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and few more.
Talking about the success of the film BLACKMAIL, Divya says, it’s a different role, something that I haven’t done ever and it’s great working with irrfan Khan, I am his fan as well.”
Furthermore when asked her about his health and if she spoke to him to which she said, “I had messaged him and I pray for his speedy recovery.”
Divya has done several films in the past when asked how she unwinds herself to which she said, “I enjoy my work. Infact the releases of the film are back to back. Infact while I was shooting for ABHI TOH PARTY SHURU HUI HAI in Lucknow, it was fun an amazing time I had with the cast, while reading the script of ABHI I cracked, it’s such a funny film.”
MANTO has her playing a beautifully-written character in one of the popular stories of the biopic;
FANNE KHAN has her starring opposite Anil Kapoor. Talking about her roles, Divya says, “Each of my characters in these films are starkly different from the other. As actors, it is important for us to push ourselves every time and reinvent the wheel. It’s a very exciting time now, especially with such amazing roles being written.”
When quizzed if she wants to romance on screen to which she said, “ I will doing hardcore romance with Manav Kaul, there are many more romantic films lined up.”
Well, her memoir ‘Me and Maa’ garnered very good response, on being asked if she will be seen penning another book to which she adds, “Yes, I am writing and will launch the book soon.”
