Excerpts from the interview
How did you venture into a DJ?
Well, I am someone who sure dreams but I never have a concrete plan for the future. I take each day as it comes. The pressure then to make a right career choice after giving up on three different fields before, led me to choose something that I found close to my heart, which was music! Djing was not with an intention of keeping it as a hobby. I wanted to make a living out of something I really liked and gave me the space to be creative. That is how I gave myself a deadline to explore in this industry and by God's grace, it all worked wee.
Did you always want to be a DJ?
Nope, I never actually ever wanted to do anything that I have done till date in terms of my profession leave alone djing. Strange isn't it? People usually dream and are career oriented right from school. I have simply taken the path that has shaped up in front of me.
What genre of music do you follow?
When you ask me follow, I would relate it to what I love to hear when I am not behind the console. If you attend my gigs, you will find me spin Bollywood and commercial house. Contrarily, I love listening to a lot of English retro and deep house. I can listen to them anytime, anywhere.
Who are your favorite DJ's?
In India, I have highly been inspired by Nucleya especially after knowing his journey. Internationally, I love Zedd, The Chainsmokers and Hardwell.
Tell us about your songs?
My remixes are mostly upbeat and groovy as I love including my remixes in my sets and the venues are usually nightclub or college fests. But I haven't allowed myself to get stagnant and monotonous there. I try to keep up to the current genres and trends and try and incorporate the latest genres keeping in mind that the feel of the original track is not destroyed in anyway. I also have some remixes of international tracks to my credit which have been loved by many.
Any Plans of Bollywood?
I don't quite have any plans to 'ACT ' in Bollywood if that what you mean... LOL . Well, learning is a process and I really hope I can learn and master an instrument one day. At the moment, I have my plans to learn the piano which I had given up for a while, but I am on it now. I really wish to use my knowledge from there and use it to make original music someday.
