Exclusive! Geetanjali Thapa: I was awestruck seeing Danny sir!

Geetanjali Thapa is a multi-talented actor who was seen in various films in past like Rajkummar Rao’s TRAPPED, KUCHH BHEEGE ALFAAZ and was recently seen in BIOSCOPEWALA sharing screen space with living legend, Danny Denzongpa.

Geetanjali has done some really character driven roles and is looking for roles that are truly commercial.

In an exclusive conversation with National award winner Geetanjali she shares about working with Danny, why did she choose this role and what kind of roles she would want to do in near future.

When asked her to elaborate about her role to which she said, “In our film, I portray the role of Minnie who has grown up and has become a filmmaker in Paris and she comes back to her home and discovered the root behind her passion for storytelling lies in her childhood. She comes in search of man who she has spent time in childhood.”

Speaking on working with Danny she said, “ He is an immensely talented actor and who wouldn’t want to share screen space with him. I am blessed to share this screen space with him at such an early stage of my career. The very first time when I met him I was awestruck.”

On being asked, is there any such influence that Geetanjali had from her childhood? “My upbringing makes me the kind of person I am today. I cannot really specify one incident in that manner, but we had a teacher in school who used to encourage me to read books... Not really textbooks, but storybooks. There is a world inside stories, and I think that helped me to develop an interest in reading and narrating stories in whichever medium I do today.”

When asked if she has read Rabindranath Tagore’s Kaabuliwala to which Geetanjali said, “ Yes I had read few of the works of Rabindranathji, he is an amazing writer and poet. My name is Geetanjali which is also one of the famous write ups by him.”

Lastly when asked her what kind of roles is she looking at to which she said, “ I am open to various roles and would love to take up everything that comes my way.”
