Muscat – The global city of the Sultanate of Oman may be the new favourite destination for Bollywood. The fascination of the tinsel town with the exotic locations of Oman has always attracted filmmakers. Neeraj Pandey’s upcoming AIYAARY starring Sidharth Malhotra and Manoj Bajpayee in lead has shot its important portions in Oman.

Now a Hindi - Arabic sports-themed movie is getting filmed in Oman’s capital Muscat. Titled PAPA KEHTE HAI BADA NAAM KAREGA, the movie is said to be an inspirational drama of a cricket-obsessed young boy from a remote Indian town whose only aim is to become a cricketer and fulfill his dream of wearing the Indian cricket team blue jersey.

Directed by Harleen Singh, the movie had its first ‘mahurat’ shot at the Muscat Festival venue at Amerat, the movie will be shot in other exotic locations of Oman in future.

A team from the Indian Hindi film industry that included award-winning filmmaker & CEO Wave Cinemas Rahul Mittra, actor filmmaker Deepak Tijori and actor Harshvardhan Deo were invited as guests of honour for the first shot of PAPA KEHTE HAI BADA NAAM KAREGA at Muscat recently.

Rahul Mittra whose latest SAHEB BIWI AUR GANGSTER 3 with Sanjay Dutt is gearing up for release, appreciated the breathtaking locales of the country and & urged the senior government functionaries present at the event to come up with an attractive subsidy & film policy.

Previously Milan Lutharia shot some portions of ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAI DOBAARA in Muscat and Hollywood movies like Tarantino’s PULP FICTION and Robert De Niro starrer KILLER ELITE has been shot in Oman.
