ON THE BASIS OF SEX is the upcoming film about Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg and her fight for gender equality. Felicity Jones plays the role of Ginsberg, the film is directed by Mimi Leder and written by Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s nephew, Daniel Stiepleman. The trailer shows a bit of what to expect from the film and this kind of films makes us more excited as well as makes us think about the society and its rules.

The film is an inspiring true story of young lawyer Ruth Bader Ginsburg as she teams up with her husband Marty to bring a groundbreaking case before the U.S. Court of Appeals and overturn a century of gender discrimination. The trailer further elaborates Ruth's efforts to participate in the case. The trailer concludes with Ruth appearing in court to argue for gender equality. A judge states, "The word woman does not appear even once in the U.S. Constitution." Bader Ginsburg responds, "Nor does the word freedom, your honor."

The film is a hard-hitting reality to come out in a very critical period where gender equality is still an issue and the film may turn out to be a strong Oscar contender. The film follows Julie Cohen and Betsy West's Ginsburg documentary, RBG, which was a box-office success.

ON THE BASIS OF SEX is Mimi Leder’s first film in nearly 10 years. Mimi is best known for her films like THE PACEMAKER and DEEP IMPACT but in recent years she was blooming on television with acclaimed HBO series The Leftovers, for which she was an executive producer.

ON THE BASIS OF SEX will hit theaters on December 25, 2018, the film also stars Kathy Bates, Justin Theroux and Sam Waterston among others.
