Fire on Bhansali's set could mean damage of Rs.10 mn

Producer Tutu Sharma is still contemplating on a suitable date for the release of his two long-awaited films, PAANCH and KHULLAM KHULLA PYAR KARENGE. The promos of the latter had already begun on air but Sharma informs that he is now working on some more innovative promos for the film in keeping with its peppy subject. "I also wanted to be sure about a responsible distribution network and proper chain of theatres for PAANCH, which is why it took me a little longer. I am definitely planning to release the two films in February, though I intend to announce the exact release dates only towards the end of this month," says Sharma.

It looks like Kashyap's second film, BLACK FRIDAY, scheduled for January 28, will now be his first release as a director, with his controversial directorial debut, PAANCH only releasing in February. Based on S. Hussain Zaidi's book by the same name, on the serial bomb blasts that rocked Mumbai in March 1993, and produced by Arindam Mitra, Director Operations, Mid Day Multimedia Limited, BLACK FRIDAY has generated tremendous curiosity in the trade prior to its release. Meanwhile there is confusion among a section of exhibitors about prioritizing the business potential of the three forthcoming films with 'Black' in their titles. There's Sanjay Leela Bhansali's BLACK, which tops the list of the most anticipated films, followed by the Ajay Devgan starrer BLACKMAIL, directed by Anil Devgan and of course BLACK FRIDAY.
