Music has always been important to actor Shweta Rohira and legendary music composer RD Burman has been one of her favourites. It’s been 25 years the magician of melody passed away and the actor says that she has always loved his creations. “I am a huge fan of RD Burman and my playlist has mostly all his songs. His music continues to captivate the imagination of musicians, music lovers and everyone to this day. His music has a unique ability to not only make folk and classical music accessible to the modern listener but present them in an original, yet contemporary manner,” she says.
Ask her what are her favourite numbers, and she says, “I love all his songs. The songs from the film Dil Vil Pyar Vyar were recreations from the songs of Pancham da. That film is my all-time favourite and I personally love Yaadon Ki Baarat.”
She adds, “The film is directed by Anant Mahadevan, who plays my father in my most recent play That's My Girl. I always tell him whenever we meet for rehearsal and the shows that he should make Dil Vil Pyar Vyaar 2 and he should cast me in the film!”
