From Big B to Priyanka Chopra, GLAMSHAM salutes these celebs for their concerns on environment

Today in support of World Environment DAY - GLAMSHAM wishes to highlight how some bollywood celebrities have actively directly or indirectly supported the environment this year.
The work of celebrities is not just limited to entertaining the people but it also includes playing a role model for social causes and Bollywood is no behind. See how they have contributed.

Richa Chadha:
Leading the bandwagon, Richa Chadha has always been vocal about doing our bit for the environment. The FUKREY actress has been leading a very organic lifestyle and even prefers to wear sustainable fashion in order to prevent further harm to the environment.

World Environment Day (WED) occurs on the 5th of June every year, and is the United Nation's principal vehicle for encouraging awareness and action for the protection of our environment. The theme for 2018 is \"Beat Plastic Pollution\". The host nation is India. By choosing this Theme, it is aimed that people may strive to reduce the heavy burden of plastic pollution.

This is by no means an exhaustive list but it gives an indication how our celebrities are working towards the social goals by creating awareness.

Taapsee Pannu :
The PINK actress was roped in for a campaign by Animal Planet on tiger conservation to generate an interest in the survival and conservation of the National Animal of India.

Priyanka Chopra:
A UNICEF ambassador, PC has travelled the world visiting various camps set up for under privileged women and children. She also voices out her support for the plastic ban and has been supportive towards other such causes.

Akshay Kumar:
It is a moment of pride for Akshay Kumar as the Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the efforts and the message in TOILET: EK PREM KATHA.

Vidya Balan:
Vidya Balan is the brand ambassador for sanitation campaign. Her advertisements for building toilets and maintaining sanitation and hygiene are good and informative.\"Jahan Soch wahan shauchalaya\"

Dia Mirza:

Amitabh Bachchan:
Amitabh Bachchan, the iconic Indian actor has been associated with Dettol-NDTV Banega Swachh India campaign since it was first conceived, in September 2014. He has been extensively involved in the campaign and helped in galvanizing the masses in the right direction. Also he recently lauded all the workers of ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’, who have been working tirelessly to propagate the idea of cleanliness in the minds of people.
