Former US President George HW Bush passes away
Former US President George HW Bush died at the age of 94. George Bush Senior passed away at on Friday.
He served as the 41st US president between 1989 and 1993. Bush's health had been failing in recent years but he still managed to make public appearances. In April, he was admitted to hospital with a blood infection but was discharged. Bush died seven months after his wife Barbara, on 17 April 2018. In 1945, Bush married Barbara Pierce. They met during a dance in 1941 when he was a student, and they wrote letters to each other throughout the war. “Goodnite, my beautiful,” Bush wrote in one letter. “Everytime I say beautiful you about kill me but you'll have to accept it.”
George Bush Senior became president after serving two terms as Vice President to Ronald Reagan. In an official statement by George W Bush in his social media, he wrote, "Jeb, Neil, Marvin, Doro, and I are saddened to announce that after 94 remarkable years, our dear Dad has died, George HW Bush was a man of the highest character and the best dad a son or daughter could ask for. The entire Bush family is deeply grateful for 41's life and love, for the compassion of those who have cared and prayed for DAD, and for the condolences of our friends and fellow citizens.
