Michael meets Laurie, again after 40 years and HALLOWEEN is back in the best way it can be. Gaining maximum respect, driving you into a nostalgic stab that is deep and penetrating as the knife attacks of the masked man, celebrating the glory of the iconic Carpenter’s 1978 Halloween story, HALLOWEEN by David Gordon Green is nothing but a pious offering of a devotee to his god that spans generations.

The iconic soundtrack, the spooky atmosphere and Michael Meyers’ familiar mask all are back, and to top it all Jamie Lee Curtis and Nick Castle reprise their roles as Strode and Myers, this is hauntingly scary and don’t be surprised if it disturbs your dreams.

Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis), is ready for the final confrontation with her age old rival Michael. David Gordon Green’s sequel to HALLOWEEN ignores the previous nine attempts on the franchise and gets straight into the business. Its past 40 years now, Laurie Strode, the sole survivor of Michael Myers' 1978 killing spree, is mother of Karen (Judy Greer) and grandmother of Allyson (Andi Matichak). A sequel that remarkably takes the unknown (those who are not aware of the 1978 slasher classic) comes with some fresh surprises as well.

Some side characters threaten to spoil the fun but the biggest victory of David Gordon Green’s follow up is the trauma the entire generation of Laurie Strod’s family goes through. The fear of the evil/the attacker creepily haunts and makes its presence felt even in its absence.

Jamie Lee Curtis was born to play the role of Laurie and Nick Castle is an absolute terror.

Cinematographer Michael Simmonds terrific understanding of Green’s vision adds more thrills making smart use of shadows and rural locations into the settings that makes this ‘boogeyman.” Scary, very very scary.
