Has 'Genius of the Year' Alia Bhatt become 'Crybaby of the Year'?
While unveiling the song at the recently held event, Alia revealed about her preparations for ‘Gulaabo’, “I’ll be very honest. ‘Gulaabo’ was the first song where Shahid and I were supposed to dance together. So I was damn nervous, because I was like I’m dancing next to Shahid! Even if he puts 10 percent energy, it’s like he’s putting 100 percent energy. I wanted to at least match up to him, try and look normal. So I worked very hard that eventually Vikas (Bahl) and Bosco (Martis) had to stop me from rehearsing. Then, Shahid came and asked, ‘Bosco what’s the vibe?’ And then he got it (the steps) in 8 minutes. I remember I asked Bosco’s assistant Gul also – why? And he said ‘Shah bhai toh aise hi hai’.”
Shahid Kapoor, who was also present at the event, jumped in, “Nobody calls me Shah bhai and all that. It’s all rubbish. Did you guys see the video? Have you seen how she’s killing it in the video? All these new kids I’m telling you, they are very shaana. I thought Alia and I had become really close friends. We used to spend time together – go to the coffee shop, do things together, hang out every day after shooting and suddenly one day when I messaged Alia, there was no response. However, I found out that sneakily she has gone for the rehearsals for the song Gulaabo. So she used to go without telling me because they have this big keeda that I want to be better than the other one.”Also Read - Alia Bhatt's 'Shaandaar' kiss makes Shahid Kapoor blush!
Alia Bhatt in turn replied, “No Shahid. Even if I try I can’t be better than you in dancing. But to answer your question, I worked very hard and I’m very happy that you acknowledge it. But I must point out and Bosco will second me on this that there were moments where I was crying and saying ‘Why these steps Bosco?’ He used to call me penguin feet. Because I just didn’t know what to do and Shahid would be like, ‘Ok babe, slow down. Why are you doing that? Look at the energy and mood. So, he really helped me with it.”
Bosco then confirmed, “She did cry and the tears might just make the song really larger-than-life.”
As they say there is no hard work without blood and sweat, we guess for Alia Bhatt, hard work is incomplete without some tears…
