Heard this? PADMAVATI is reportedly 3 hours 13 minutes long!

Ever since the trailer of PADMAVATI was out everyone has been eagerly waiting for the release of this Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus.

Reportedly the run time of PADMAVATI is full three hours thirty minute long! A source close to the film was quoted saying in DNA report as, “The runtime of PADMAVATI is somewhere around three-hours-and-13-minutes. The makers had shot for material of over four-and-a-half hours and the director sat with his editor to chop the film down to somewhere around the almost 200 minute timer.”

The source further added, “It might be a long film, but it needs that kind of time. It’s visually spectacular with some stunning warfare scenes. If he (Bhansali) had edited it further, he could have ended up diluting the essence of it. Bhansali will never compromise on the quality of his movie, even if that leads to a slightly longer runtime.”

If this report turns out to be true then PADMAVATI will be leaving behind Bhansali’s HUM DIL DE CHUKE SANAM (HDDCS) as his longest film to date. The runtime of HDDCS was 3 hours 8 minutes.

With the film boasting of spectacular beauty of Sanjay Leela’s larger than life canvas and some breath-taking scenes along with Deepika Padukone’s ethereal beauty as Rani Padmavati, and on top of that releasing in a 3D format, we don’t think the viewers are going to complaint about the length of this film.
