The year 2018 saw the big guns of Bollywood taking a back seat. Content-driven movies and new actors rose to prominence with their standout performances. One such find was Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor, the youngest of the Kapoor clan for his portrayal of the titular character in Vikramaditya Motwane and Anurag Kashyap’s BHAVESH JOSHI SUPERHERO.
In the news recently for his candid, mature and honest answers in an appearance on a popular talk show with his sisters and for his steamy shirtless pictures on a microblogging platform, Harsh has captured a lot of female attention. His boyish good looks, wit, intelligence and shy demeanor have made him a hot favourite with the ladies.
Harsh has also received a lot of praise for his fashion choices. A total “sneaker-head”, he looks just as good in streetwear and sneakers as he does in a dapper suit.
Harsh made his Bollywood debut not too long ago in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s MIRZYA. His performance was appreciated and even bagged him the Best Debutant Award at the Star Screen, ELLE and Stardust Awards. His next project was Vikramaditya Motwane and Anurag Kashyap’s BHAVESH JOSHI SUPERHERO. A vigilante story of three boys in Mumbai who grow tired of corruption and decide to bring about change and serve people ‘Insaaf’(justice). The movie takes a serious turn when his character steps up to the mantle and dawns the mask to become Bhavesh Joshi. His portrayal of a vulnerable friend who feels guilty for his friend’s death and then transforms into a vigilante was praised by audience and critics alike. The film, which is now on a popular streaming platform, has received immense love and is well on its way to achieve cult status.
When asked Harsh about his upcoming plans he said, “I am currently prepping for Abhinav Bindra’s biopic in which I will be starring along with my father. It is a story I am very moved by and look forward to bringing it forth to the world. I am also in the process of reading some really interesting scripts from which I will be finalizing my next projects. There are some interesting ideas and amazing directors that I can’t wait to work with.”
