Here’s how Nawazuddin Siddiqui is giving ear to budding poets!

In an attempt to shed light on the current socio-political situation, Qyuki creator, Unerased Poetry’s latest association with Nawazuddin Siddiqui, which also features Ramneek Singh and Hasan Baldiwala alongside has created much havoc across varied economic strata in our country, through the power of mere words.

It’s not the first time Unerase poetry has taken the initiative to bring out the issue in the open and highlighted its effects on the society but with “Mere Kavi Dost’ they foreground the threat to the liberty of speech in our country. The poem raises an urgency for writers and artists to write about the current happenings and take a stand against it. It also touches upon various sensitive topics like farmer suicides, violence against women and the threat to free press.

Giving their view on this powerful collab, Unerase Poetry says ‘This poem might be the most relevant poem on the internet for our nation. It's a plea to all writers and poets and artists to pick up their pens and brushes and diaries and protest, right in the middle of the roads. We, at UnErase, are glad to have collaborated with Manto and Nawaz on this poem and stand up for what's right.’

Sharing his thoughts on the same, Sagar Gokhale, COO at Qyuki, says “We at Qyuki have always encouraged/supported change and we are glad to be associated with Unerase Poetry who puts the message out / takes this initiative through a form as beautiful as poetry. Our constant effort has been to nurture and support talent that can influence a change in society and with a stellar performer like Nawazuddin Siddiqui on their side, the message surely will be conveyed out there.”

Qyuki has always intended on curating innovative content and with ‘Mere Kavi Dost’ it is sure to make a million minds ponder. The unique collaboration between UnErase Poetry & Manto the Film, featuring Nawazuddin Siddiqui is an impactful call to poets to raise their pen for the country and its citizens. The video alongside Nawazuddin also features Ramneek Singh & Hasan Baldiwala.
