Indian diaspora votes overwhelm new TV show

Arshad Warsi's new show on the small screen, "Pepsi Gold Sabsey Favourite Kaun?", seems to have been a big hit with the viewers.

Contrary to expectations, the Star Gold channel has been overwhelmed with viewer response. In barely ten days they are said to have received over 100,000 votes from all over the world

The battle between the fans of the stars shows no signs of abating as the entries continue to pour in at the rate of 10,000 to 15,000 votes per day.

"There is a definite spike in ratings after the show airs on Friday evenings at 8.00 p.m., but it's surprisingly consistent through the week," says Deepak Segal, Senior Vice President, C&C. STAR India.

And the fact that people from China and New Zealand are voting is proof that Bollywood stars have big fans around the world, he says.

"Pepsi Gold Sabsey Favourite Kaun?" is India's largest opinion poll for the film industry.

The categories for polling are Sabsey Favourite Hero, Sabsey Favourite Heroine, Sabsey Favourite Comedian, Sabsey Favourite Naya Hero and Sabsey Favourite Nayi Heroine.
