IRON MAN director confirms live action STAR WARS series
IRON MAN director Jon Favreau surprised everyone last night by announcing Disney’s untitled streaming service first series titled The Mandalorian, all the Star Wars fan went crazy as Jon shared a small summary about the series along with the official title. Favreau, who directed IRON MAN, IRON MAN 2, and appeared in The Clone Wars and SOLO, announced that he'll helm the show back in March. Production began earlier this week, teasing a familiar-looking desert planet. The Mandalorians are an incredibly popular segment of the Star Wars universe, featured in several now non-canon novels, and with a good amount of screen time during The Clone Wars.
Sharing the picture on Instagram which reads, "After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic,"
For those who don't know, Boba Fett is one of the biggest cult figures in Star Wars series, originally introduced in Empire Strikes Back. He’s hired by Jabba the Hutt to track down Han Solo, who is in debt to the galactic gangster.
Interestingly, Favreau already has a connection to the Mandalorians: he voiced a character named Pre Vizsla in The Clone Wars, an animated series.
This will be the first time that we'll be witnessing star wars universe as a live action series. Though, the confirmed named haven't been revealed yet about the Disney's streaming service. A week back Loki and Scarlet Witch's spin-off series was announced by the studios and we are expecting to see these two characters making their way along with The Mandalorian in the streaming service.
Currently, we only know the show's title, there has been no confirmation about the cast members and the confirmed release dates, but we're expecting it to release by late 2019.
