Jackie Shroff extends his underworld Don streak

Contrary to popular misconception, it is not just Sanjay Dutt who seems to have perfected the art of playing a Don/Bhai. His closest competitor from the 80s, Jackie Shroff, too is being seen in the same avtar for quite some time now, albeit with far lesser success.

In last Friday's release DHOOM DHADAKKA; Jackie Shroff played the role of an international Don. This is not all as in a week from now; he would be seen donning the same wardrobe for HUM SEY HAI JAHAAN where he plays the role of Gary Rosario, an underground racketeer of night clubs. The film marks the debut of Mashhoor Amrohi as actor, producer and director.

Now let's get a little into immediate past.

In majority of films gone by, he has played a Don. Whether it is Carlos of Sangeeth Sivan's APNA SAPNA MONEY MONEY, Gunmaster G9 in Ahmed Khan's FOOL N FINAL, plain and simple don in small time flick AUR PAPPU PAAS HO GAYA or a white collar businessman Gautam Walia in Madhur Bhandarkar's AAN - MEN AT WORK, he has kept working in films that have required him to play a man who is a part of underworld.

In fact one of his most over the top gangster act has been in ill fated BOOM where he featured as Abdul Wahab Barkatali Al Sabunchi 50/50 Aka Chotte Mia! In future too, he has a major role coming up in Feroz Khan's KURBANI where he would be enacting the role of Rakka that was immortalized by Late Amrish Puri in the original film QURBANI.

Looks like Jaggu dada is indeed turning out to be the big 'dada' when it comes to 'bhaigiri'!
