Jackie Shroff mobbed at Chambal!

No doubt Jackie Shroff aka Jaggu Dada is one of the coolest actors of B-town, who has a huge fan following even today. And recently the entire cast and crew of debutant director Karan Lalit Butani’s upcoming crime drama – PHAMOUS, got to witness the power of his stardom when they were shooting for the film in the notorious Chambal Valley.

PHAMOUS is a story about a power struggle, which is entirely shot in our very own version of Wild Wild West – the ravines of Chambal, a region where none really expected to be mobbed by fans. However, the team was in a for a surprise, when Jaggu Dada arrived in Chambal. As soon as the locals got to know that their favourite star was in town for shooting, a vast crowd gathered right outside the Palace hotel where he was put up.

Director Karan recalls the incident, “The day Jaggu Dada arrived, I was away shooting. We were staying at Vasundhara Raje’s palace hotel in Dholpur, and coincidentally she too was there in the hotel that time for some meetings. When I arrived at the hotel after the shoot, the gate of the palace was blocked with people, and I had to actually take the back gate in. When I entered, the manager of the property walked up to me with a smile and asked if I saw the crowd outside. I nodded and said, ‘Yes, it is for Vasundhara Raje, right?’ He laughed and said, ‘No sir, that crowd is standing there because they've found out that Jaggu Dada is staying here.’ I couldn't believe it. The crowd was seriously insane. It’s amazing how much people love him. He's such a brilliant human at heart that I’m not surprised that they do.”

PHAMOUS also stars Jimmy Sheirgill, Kay Kay, Pankaj Tripathi, Shriya Saran and Mahie Gill. PHAMOUS is a Karan Lalit Butani film, presented by Raj Khatri Filmz and produced by Raj Khatri, Vidisha Productions and Amitabh Chandra. PHAMOUS is scheduled to releases on June 1, 2018.
