Did Jake Gyllenhaal officially confirmed about his role in SPIDER MAN: FAR FROM HOME?

On Wednesday, the award-winning actor Jake Gyllenhaal made his debut on the popular social media, just in time to begin promoting his new character in the 2019 film SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME.

In his first post itself, Jake Gyllenhaal has officially confirmed that he will be playing Mysterio. The video shows Gyllenhaal reading Amazing Spider-Man #311: The Return of the Man Called Mysterio! 1989, with another Mysterio issue framed behind him. Jake Gyllenhaal wrote, “I just realized I’m not playing Spider-Man." It’s currently unclear which incarnation of Mysterio Gyllenhaal will be portraying.

Reports have been circulating about Jake playing Mysterio since May, though this is the first official confirmation through the actor himself. Rumors also suggest that Michael Keaton could also return as The Vulture alongside Jake’s Mysterio.

Tom Holland will reprise his role as Peter Parker and Zendaya will also return for the sequel, Marisa Tomei will also reprise her role as Aunt May. The film also stars Cobie Smulders and Samuel Jackson.

SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME is set to hit theaters in July 2019.
