On Chaitra Shukla Purnima, i.e., the full-moon day of March-April, Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated every year all over India, the prominent one being in a small district of Gujarat. A three-day function designated 'Asmita Parva' was held to celebrate the birth-anniversary of Hanuman, with great religious fervour. The three days function was held under the gracious guidance of Shri Murari Bapu. Every night was excelled by classical singing and dance by some eminent name from the world of Indian Classical Music. With 'Asmita' celebrations there was the Rajya Sabha member and renowned dancer Jayaprada performing on the third evening. She received huge applause for her splendid rendering of 'Amrapalli Ballet' which was watched by more than 5000 people. The ballet lasted for 2 hours and had the audience with their eyes glued to the stage in a sort of hypnosis.
